Title: Arum like wild plant
Post by: takin a leek on March 14, 2013, 13:30:02
I have noticed one of the first plants emerging from the ground in early spring in woodlands has large upright arrow shaped leaves.

It looks a bit like the leaves of Arum (or Lords and Ladies or Cuckoo Pint) but all my guide books say it doesnt appear til April.

Does anyone know what it could be?

I'm with Palustris, the wild arum that haunts my borders has been up for a couple of weeks - even though I really thought I'd managed to eradicate it!

I've got arums coming up all round. I have three species including the wild one and they're all up.
