Title: name of Hoe with English sounding name
Post by: jock_edin on March 04, 2013, 20:54:05
Hi all I was at a meeting on an allotment the other day and just as I was leaving the guy in the last plot at the gate was using this funny looking tool once I was out I shouted back to him did he make it himself or buy it "reply" bought it, it was a hoe but had handles as like a bicycle and he called it name  as in an English town or shire but cant remember the name anyone know what I am on about
Its blade must have been about same size width as handles.  Honestly hadn't been on the sauce.

The bicycle handles sound more like a wheel hoe.

It wasn't a Wolf Terrex autospade was it? That has handles like a bicycle...

It wouldn't be a Chillington Hoe since that has a pole-type handle.

Lol, perhaps worth selling if you don't use it much, think of all the seeds you could buy!

Are they any good?

I will give it a go ,great if it works otherwise it may become Object D'art in the back garden ,it is an older version with proper cast iron parts ,I saved it when someone asked me to take it to the dump, and really in allotment terms it is only just " run in" .

If it is a wheeled hoe I know them at planet wheeled hoe. Cant remember the name just now. I got one off eBay, the old style which seems better proportioned than the newer ones. I think it might be a planet wheeled junior hoe. The blades are adjustable in and out to suit the width of thelines you are hoeing. Its very quick to use.
