Tried growing it for the first time last year, but the results were not impressive. I did wonder whether it had a bit of carrot fly or something similar. It was hard to be sure, as the roots were so small. My sister in France grew it the year before and it was fantastic, so I will be persisting.

I have tried to grow it several times and not really had much success. It was difficult to germinate (like parsley to which it is related) and the roots were small (but tasty!)
If it grows well on the continent I wonder whether if needs higher temperatures or  alonger growing season?

I grew it two years ago, and thought it worthwhile - the leaves were a good (bitter0 addition to salads and the roots were small parsnips. Last year it was a write off - the weather and slugs did it in. i am trying again this year.
