Are they from last year or recently bought?

If they are last years I'd be surprised if they did well, although if autumn planting you might get some growth.

I am still waiting until soil a bit drier before mine go out.  I normally plant them second week in March but this year things are rather soggy so it might be later.    Not sure how the Autumn ones will do.

No, not too late at all :sunny:

Waiting for summer (formerly spring) to start and dry the soil up a little as its just too claggy for me at mo. I follwowed Terry Waltons advice which was to put 'em pots in jan/ feb in a cold greenhouse so they form a stronger root system before planting - this is also working a treat for garlic too! :icon_cheers:

There's 3 things you should do here
1. Wait for the soil to warm up and get them in
2. Rub your ribs and make sure they're OK for planting and
3. Sprinkle a bit of athletes foot talc on your feet.

I've had a broken rib and I don't envy the pain you'll have been in.
