Title: In praise of Freecycle
Post by: chriscross1966 on February 14, 2013, 00:30:34
Picked up 21 off 2 foot by 2 foot paving slabs this evening.... that should do the path down between the greenhouse and the asparagus with enough left over to extend the side path my neighbour's started to put in on the allotment all the way to my polytunnel... result!.... Lad who was getting rid was happy, he's planning on using the supposedly niceish weekend to relay his patio, sticks in an ad on freecycle at lunchtime and by the time his dinner is on the table the whole lot have been collected and his planned two trips to the dump on Saturday morning first thing are cancelled...there were three of us, first chap just leaving as I arrived, the third one turned up as I was pulling out... he said all of us were looking for paving for our lotties :D .... glad I was in second though, the first bloke had further to carry the 20 or so slabs he had and the third guy was going to have to uplift mostly 3x2's and the 2x2's were heavy enough...

I love freecycle! But why does nobody want my gardening mags this year? I've advertised them twice and got no takers!

I've given away a lot of stuff on freecycle recently, mirrors, chairs, an old TV and exercise equipment that had become clothes hangers. My back room which has been full of boxes since we moved in 12 months ago is about to become a nursery in 4 weeks time.  :icon_cheers: No I'm not planning on getting my tomatoes started early, I'm about to become a Dad!!!  :blob7:

That's  much more exciting than tomatoes - congratulations!
