Last week I was conned into redecorating the lounge, but it did not stop there, did it? the dining room looks shabby now, and the kitchen could do with a lick of paint, might as well do the back porch as well. She is giving out orders like theres no tomorrow. How about new doors on the landing and while your at it you might as well paint the hallway and stairs. So 6 doors that all need trimming to fit and I know in my heart that the stair carpet will have to be replaced so I ain't going to be too careful with the sawdust.

Now from an innocent little conversation about xmas getting too commercial, I have been told we are making next years presents and growing and preparing all our xmas food, even rearing a goose to murder next december. I shall be making this stuff all year and all she will be doing is knitting. I'll end up a wreck with just a reindeer jumper to show for it all. Growing all the veg ain't a problem but picking the hedgerow fruits for pickle will be a chore, bullace, crab apples, blackberries etc.

The list so far.

Making danglies for the xmas tree

wooden toys for the kids

Some mosaic pots and bits for adults

pickles

goose

staging a family nativity play. ( I shall be the angel)

cut one of my lovely conifers down

smoking a gammon

homemade decorations

homebrew

sloe gin

confectionary

preserved fruits

making our own cards

gathering chestnuts

holly wreaths

the list gets longer everytime she comes in, don't tell me I've forgotten something as she is bound to remember it anyway.
