My wildflower patch has finally finished flowering after four months. I think that is an incredible payback for the cost of a few packets of seeds.
I written about it and put a gallery of pictures on my blog. So if you have 10 minutes and want to dream of summer again, get yourself a cuppa and have a look:

Beatiful flowers with stunning colours!
Just goes to show how a few packets of seeds can transform a spare bit of earth

Lovely! Ours went a bit wrong this year...none of the seeds I sowed actually came up, but we had self-seeded poppies from the previous year, and loads of marigolds, again self-seeded. The marigolds have been flowering since august and are still a sea of yellow., so not all doom and gloom. I think it was just too cold and wet for the seeds sown in late spring...they probably floated away!
Thanks. It has been a really bad gardening year, I bet that's why your first sowing didn't come up.
It's the marigolds that finished flowering last out of my wildflowers too
