Hi, I'm getting one of these for Christmas, a 10" one . I need 3g for when we're at the caravan so, how do I set up internet access, does it come with the tablet or do I pay someone like virgin? Any reccommendations would be appreciated, there's a new google one out this week that looks good but has no reviews, or the samsung galaxy. I'm very confused, I could do with some simple answers :toothy10:
If you have 3g then you generally have to have a contract with a providor like Virgin or O2 - much the same as if it were a phone. I dont think there has been any announcement yet as to what providors will be used. You will need a pay as you go deal or get a contract for 3g data..
Just wait a week or two and the Google Nexus will be out or at least there will be more information
I have a Google Nexus 7 and I really like it - I dont really need 3g and I always have my phone for data.. My wife has one and she loves it too.
The device is great and there are certain advantages in having the Nexus over other tablets - it is pure Android and you get updates quicker than other devices.
I like the 7" version as I can hold it in one hand ..
If there is anything specific you would like to know - just ask.
i have a 3g dongle running my computer and it works 100%
i can even get the internet on the allotmrent !!
i have been looking for ages for one that will work on my tablet, but no sucess as yet ? so have to rely on the free WI-FI at the local pub

Thanks for that, Barriedalenick. I think I'll wait to see what the google nexus has to offer :happy7:
The Samsung ones are very good (I work with them at work). You can use 3G when you are out of range of Wifi but to be honest I find that just using via WIFI is pretty much all you need. I didn't have 3G on my (ripped off) smartphone and I got along quite well just via WIFI.
Bought a galaxy 10" one, very pleased with it but won't set up the 3g until next year when we go to the caravan at weekends
