I know, I know, it is an allotment site.........but I thought I read elsewhere that any gardening bits might be interesting.....so here you go.......
Had a bit of the garden that the children were killing regularly, so decided to build them a playhouse......funds were kinda tight......and we do like to recycle.......so with a few skips raided...and a little bit of wood bought we set out to build somewhere for them to play......and here it is in its construction phases.......

And then a little sparse looking but almost complete:

Then, once the turf was laid....the end of our garden was back to normal........complete with a little 2-storey children's playhouse with a slide exiting above the fruit bushes......they now play, and pick fruit (berries......black, logan, rasp and straw) during the summer.....

And the railway sleepers to the right (as you look at it) are a little bridge for them to go over........we have a variety of things that now grow around, over and under it.............
......in the summer, they live there....... :):)
Wow! I would like to live there too!!!

I'll have a chat to the boss.......I am sure we could fit you in............
......although you would have to try the slide out......
You can't beat raiding a good skip.
I must confess that quite a few pallets form work gave their lives during the construction of the playhouse.........
;) ;) ;)
That is SO brilliant! Lucky children, eh? Love the 1st storey extension.
Remember that in a commune (council) park in Orbetello where we spent lots of time, the gardener's hut to house all the equipment was fixed up with mock shutters and was painted on the outside with trailing this'n'that to became a really attractive Hansel and Gretel house-in-the-woods.
we have a couple of climbers growing up the side of it now.................
.......and did discuss a "living roof", but haven't got round to that yet..........the roof is a little overhung by next doors coniferous hedge.........don't know how that would affect it........
.......going to try to install lights and a radio next........got the basis for a 12volt circuit running to it ;)
Wow, doesn't the back end of my garden look green! ;D. Must get more colour up there. Opposite the playhouse, so on the other neighbours fence, is my greenhouse, a bargain, which Ava also built for me.
With power up that end of the garden I can see alsorts of projects next year, but for me, a mini bar in the greenhouse is the most important :P
'green' is a colour, EJ ;D and your garden looks beaut..
Spect you could always call in the Heath Robinson bloke, Jethro, for advice on the electrics? ::) - Lishka
Love it!
All best, Gavin
PS and the garden's a beaut, too!
hey hey , brill!
Lucky children. Thank god for skips too - just found four big sash windows so thats my dutchlights sorted . Well done.
I'm not sure I would fit down the slide, but I'm willing to have a go.
I have often wondered what it would be like to install a fireman's pole in my bedroom
:o
For getting up fast when I've overslept of course!!!
