At last years AGM the woman(they now out number us chaps) plot holders asked if it would be possible for some loo's,after a few comments of "do it in ya compost bin luv"and "well I'll not be cleaning them " it was agreed that the committee would look into it. Well at our AGM on Monday it was announced that our site will be getting a new all singing and dancing composting loo courtesy of the lottery, who have just handed over the princely sum of ten thousand quid to have one built :pottytrain3:
As our site is on green belt land we may not get planing permission :sad3:
As someone who would like a handy loo. I none the less question spending £10,000 of lottery funding on a loo for a few people.
Only the best for us Digeroo :pottytrain5:
Will the bucket have a gold handle? :toothy10:

Hi Froglegs,
Can you PM? I'd be really interested to hear about how you went about getting Lottery Funding, we're really keen to develop our site but it takes money. Any hints and tips you can give (or anyone else for that matter) would be gratefully received.
David
Hello Froglegs.
I'd also appreciate the same advice.
Regards
Bluecar
Sorry guys only just seen your posts, not really sure how you go on about getting the lottery to cough up(I'm not on the committee.) but I will try to find out for you.
For years we've been going on holiday camping at various echo sites... Never have I been in any compost loo that would cost more than 100 quid let alone 10k.
We got a grant for ours but the red tape and costs involved by the COUNCIL on THEIR property was something like 2.5k to get the planning permission, site visit etc.... etc..... Thing is the site belongs to them and we still get a run around..
We told them to shove it and will make do with our buckets!!
£10k for a loo. Someones taking the p1ss.... literally :pottytrain2:
Ten grand for a thunderbox ! ! !
:pottytrain2: Cheers, Tony.
Hey this is the 21 century, a loo on allotments of course, our council talked about it for 5 years, so we had a lotty grant + a couple of thousand we had saved up and put one in a SH P'cabin, so we got a meeting room, kitchen and loo in one go , had some stupid planning problems , and lots of hard work.
