Title: Using GMX email through Outlook - associated problem
Post by: Dandytown on October 23, 2012, 23:26:36
I currently have a gmx email account and prefer the way outlook organises the content.  As a result I now open gmx through my outlook on my home laptop.

The trouble is that now when I log on to gmx account directly that I find the imbox in completely empty.

Any idea why this is happening or how I can un do it?

Thanks in advance

When you download email on a POP3 account it's normal setting is to delete the message on the server when successfully transferred.
However if you go to the account settings in outlook there is an option to leave the message on the server.

Actually you really have to set this up on the pop setttings page of the gmail settings.  From Google "Your POP settings in Gmail settings are what determines whether or not messages stay on the server, so this setting in your client won't affect how Gmail handles your mail."

Or if you are using multiple clients to pick mail up and want to synch them use "recent Mode" - http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=47948.
This does allow you to set the Outllok POP client to leave a copy on the server...
