I have various seeds from last years Amateur Gardening, and would like to swap for Horseradish root.
Nasturtium Jewel of Africa
Chrysanthemum - Summer Festival
Sunflower - Taiyo
Sweet Sultan - The Bride
Sweet Pea - Astronaut Mixed
All unopened packets. :)
Would like about 6 root sections to plant. :P
A horseradish hedge ??
I only want small sections of root not 6 whole roots - that would be a bit too much heat to handle. :o ;D
I'm new to this board, which is a shame, because I've spent
the last ten years trying to get this damned stuff out of my veg plot.
I would advise you to keep an eye on your horseradish. I've often thought its called "horse" because it gallops all around your garden.
do you reckon i should move it away from my asparagus then, or just put an underground barrier in? :-\
Plant it in a pot in the ground to keep it under control - same as for that other triffid - mint.
sorry, this is a little offtopic - but is mint invasive because it grows a lot, or do the roots actually perform like couch grass and bind weed roots?
Svea, mint spreads by sending out underground runners.
Put in a barrier around it. No problems than. :D
We grow our horseradish and all variety of mints in pots (deep pots), both are going mental now. Looking forward to lifting the horseradish and getting set to grating it!!!! Think husband will have to leave the county though as he is bad enough with onions!!
I found an old central heating header tank, knocked the bottom out and buried it, perfect size
i planted mint last year and WOW it is in my lawn ,heather well most places :-X
