I've been having pain in one of my knees and someone has given me a tens machine to try.
Has anyone here used one? Did it work?
When my husband was having a problem with his knees I looked into getting him a machine. I am not sure most of them are recommended for knee pains. Do have a look at the instructions provided with the product to ensure that their warranty covers your condition.
I also suggest that you check things out with your GP sometimes for example physiotherapy can improve things.
Only during labour both times. Worked well to keep pain to a tolerable level. But it was critical to put the ends exactly on the right spots in the small of the back. You would need to see where the spots are for knee pain and experiment a bit.
Sorry to hear about your knee pains. Hope Tens works for you.
I know of a few bikers that had the inevitable broken legs post bike accidents and used TENS machines for pain relief with varying degrees of success. Not sure if they are as useful for joints though. What does your GP think?
Never tried one but do go to your Doctor as knee pain can be as a result of many things. Mine was very painful but a simple cartalige op sorted it
I've pm'd you, Squash.
My wife has cronic Fybromyalgia and is in constant pain, she uses a tens machine almost daily, its fair to say she would find life very difficult without it, As Galina says, some experiment is needed with regards to placment of the pads and the intensity of the settings, but Pauline could not be without hers.
regards Ian
I use one when the pain in my knees/hips gets too much, they mask the pain so don't carry on overusing your joints while you have it on. Can't use it on my neck or shoulder, it makes me go dizzy and I'm dizzy enough :toothy10:
I use one on my back and it does ease the pain for a while.
Best bet is to get your GP's opinion. He/she is far more qualified to advise you than we are. I don't mean to denigrate you or anyone's experiences with this technology, just saying.
Thanks for all your replies.
I think I'd better check with my GP before I use it, thanks for the advice.
Good advice from Gordonmull and the others. Hope soon sorted.
