Title: Winner of the latest competition is...
Post by: SamLouise on October 16, 2012, 10:27:16
...Peanuts!  Congratulations, Peanuts, a shot well caught!

Once again a big thank you to those who submitted a picture and to those who took the time to vote.

I don't normally say who I've voted for (not for any particular reason) but I voted for lisa's pic this time because it makes me feel like I want to decorate a room with that picture, play some calming music and stay in there all day, LOL.

Well done everyone :)

Thank you!  These hummingbird hawk-moths fascinate us.  I've never seen a (bird) humming bird, so to be able to watch these moths in the garden is a real privilege.  I  must have followed this one round our clump of zinnias for at least 10 minutes before I managed to get it in focus long enough to take the photo.  Every time I'd focussed, it has darted to another flower! I just love the elbow shape of its proboscis.

Would have been a dead heat if I hadn't voted for my own as I would have voted for Nick's!

Congratulations Peanuts.  A very good photo and you did exceedingly well to capture it.

We come across a lot of these moths when holidaying in France and trying to photograph them is a nightmare.  Well done!
