Poll
Question:
Please vote for your choice of Charity for the A4A Christmas Donation
The Poll will run for 10 days this time to allow those who are away time to vote!
An occasional comment to bump this up the front page now and again will be appreciated
Betula's original good idea along with Flighty raised money for Thrive three years ago in which we raised just over £200.
In 2010 we voted between 3 charities which were
Thrive http://www.thrive.org.uk/
Perennial http://www.perennial.org.uk/
Gardening Leave http://www.gardeningleave.org/
and Gardening Leave just won the poll by 3 votes and we managed to raise £630
Last Year we voted between
Greenfingers http://www.greenfingerscharity.org.uk
Thrive
Perennial
Gardening Leave
And Greenfingers won by 12 votes and we raised a grand total of £669-50 which was an amazing total and a big thanks to everyone again.
Good to be reminded of those times. :angel11:
I've "stickied" this thread for the duration of the poll, so it should be right at the top of the page.

Really? So I can vote for one, see the result so far and then change my vote tactically? Hmmm...not sure that's what I expected and was that the case in the past?

Yes you could change your vote last year as well.
I thought it would be fairer if one could change their vote if more information about the charities had been found (by comments for example) or people wishing to go with the flow of how others had voted.
I've voted!

A afternoon bump
Like G I'm finding it hard to make up my mind, but as Thrive and Greenfingers were chosen in previous years I will vote for one of the other two. :coffee2:

Another bump
Good morning bump :blob7:
Vote vote vote :toothy10:
Nothing for smile, any resons for this.
Maybe the gardening aspect which was discussed further back?
I will/would give to Smile, brilliant charity, but as this is a gardening forum, I think it is appropriate that we stay with gardening, otherwise it gets a bit silly, with so many good charities to support. I feel sorry for the poor donkeys abroad, but lets stick with gardening. I was going to vote for Smile but changed my mind, as this is a gardening forum.

Very well put, Borlotti, I agree entirely :icon_cheers: But I'm struggling to differentiate between Thrive and Gardening for the Disabled...

Just a little bump
I've gone for Gardening for the Disabled, as you said its a gardening Forum.
The problem is they are all so worthy.
Please vote folks. :coffee2:
I've still not voted, can't make my mind up, all very worthy.
Never mind x factor......get voting :lurk:

Don't worry about Smile then, we have just sent $250 to them from here. XX Jeannine
That is a lovely thing to do Jeannine x
Betula we budget annually for community givings and when the budget is done it is done so it was good to give to them as the New Seasons budget started.
It is so good toi be able to give.
XX Jeannine
We have a CAF account & give to Smile & others on a regular basis but it is hard deciding which to give to. We know it's there job but when we get cold callers from charities that we give to it does tend to put us off. We give to some monthly via DD & then choose the others as & when.
Your afternoon bump :blob7:
Another BUMP and it looks like a landslide. :angel11:
Getting close to the end now ... time to make up your minds .....
Is everyone leaving it to the last minute?
Thirty-three votes isn't very many is it?
Come on folks, show your hand. :toothy4:

Very true must be the signs of the times I guess ,,last year there were 51 votes...
I hope those members that can not afford a donation do not think they can't join in as this is meant to be the choice of the A4A membership as to which charity is chosen.
So come on vote away!!
Feel a bit more nervous about it this year as many are facing hard times. Please remember though many small donations add up to one
big donation :icon_cheers:
Keep voting folks x
