Title: Coal tits planting seeds.
Post by: grannyjanny on October 05, 2012, 20:54:06
While I was washing up after breakfast I was watching a coal tit on the black sunflower seeder & it was back & to for ages but it was planting the seeds in containers, plant pots & even the moss on the greenhouse. It's the first time I've witnessed it but OH found something on the net that it's a common thing with them.

The ones the bird plant or drop always so much better  than the ones ones lovingly sown & nurtured by human hands.

That is what the Coal tits do ,   they take away most of the seeds and bury them so that when the weather is harsh they remember most of the seeds they have hidden.  Not daft eh    :happy7:
