Title: M/W repairs
Post by: tomatoada on October 05, 2012, 15:39:07
Is it possible to get a microwave repaired?   My Panasonic machine has stopped working.  Only 4 years old.  My last one also a Panasonic lasted 15 years.    I have tried looking on line and found a telephone number, an expensive one of course and I got a list of options which went on for ages and did not mention repairs.
It was not a cheap machine. A Panasonic Inverter.  NN-SD466.   I have never heard of microwaves being repaired.   Any advice please.

It's almost always the safety switch on the door latch that goes.  It can be repaired easily.  For a thirty quid oven, it's obviously not worth it, but for a nice Panasonic it would be.

Can you explain what the symptoms are?

There's a place, I think, on the Hagley Road West, Quinton that repairs them.  Will mosey down later and get the telephone number for you.

Thanks for replies. At about 8am worked fine.   5pm went to heat up some food.  Dead.   Checked fuse in plug and swapped to another socket.  No change.   I might look at the back or take to repairer.  Again a4a most helpful.

No.  Are you fixed up yet.  Will try to see if the shop is open (sadly all our little independent repair shops are disappearing).
