Title: Pears
Post by: Borlotti on October 01, 2012, 19:57:26
Picked my pears today, am going to keep them in a box in the leanto.  Hope I haven't picked them too early, but some had been eaten and some had dropped off the tree.  Think they are Conference Pears, cheap tree 9 years ago from Morrisons. A bit of a shame I don't like pears, but did like my pear and apple chutney from last year, still eating it.  Any ideas what to do with them.  :happy7:

When you say 'don't like pears'..do you mean eating them as they are or just in generally used in different things?

You could mix the pear with other fruits and berries in jams, salads, pies etc. ..perhaps fruit leather?....or slice and dry to used later date or eaten as snack, they very different in flavour and texture like that.

One of my favourites is cooked pear halves (in oven) with blue cheese..MMM....pear (instead of avocados) and prawn salad..MMM..pear and crumbly Wensleydale cheese sandwiches..MMMM  :happy7:
