Title: Runaway Runners!!
Post by: boydzfish on September 30, 2012, 13:09:26
After a slow start my runner beans are now putting on a late spurt and, despite giving some to the neighbours and freezing some there are still too many for the two of us at home. We had a disappointing Borlotto show but we have enough to dry for soups and stews so can I leave the runner pods on the vine to dry and use their beans in a similar way?

I always take excess runners into work and ask for a donation to my dog rescue charity.
Folks usually pay £1 or £1.50 depending on how many in the bag. I have been dong it for years, always grow more than I need. I could sell 10 times over.. they love them.
Runner bean chutney is also good to eat, although I never made any myself x
