Title: Plan for small garden
Post by: tomatoada on September 21, 2012, 19:41:51
My back garden is 45ft wide and 30ft long.   I have been looking for some ideas but find only plans for gardens that are longer than wide.   Has anyone experience of landscape gardeners?   I am considering consulting one.

I would sound out your local tec college and see if they would like a project. Or check and see if you have a garden designer living locally that would give it a look at. There are some excellent gardeners on this site. Post some photos, a plan  of the garden including where your house doors and windows are, plus gates type of boundaries drain covers etc. Give your preferences for plants, trees and shrubs. Lastly type of soil and a compass point. I'm sure we could all come up with something for you.

Landscaping firms will leave you with a supermarket carpark effect so get a designer to give them a plan to work to if you do go that way.

We will be up at Wythall at the end of november pm me if you want a visit.

Thanks for your reply.  I would love to do the things you suggest but I still might not get it right.  I have sent you a PM.

Maybe write down the things you would like in your garden then that might give you  enough ideas to start visualising it in your mind.

Do not be afraid of trying something and then if you are not happy with it something else another year.
Most gardens evolve over a period of time.
