I have trellis fence panels around my greenhouse. Pigeons sit on it and make a really bad mess on the paving slabs on the ground.
Has anyone ever used these.........

Do you think they would be affective against pigeons?
Duke
I don't know about your pigeons, but where I've seen them in use, they don't deter any wild life movement what so ever. Just other day saw squirrel tip toying over garden fence that those spiky strips nailed on top..and big wood pigeons sitting there too.
I think they work (or should) more against humans, trying to climb over the fence.
I've seen different sort of 'spikes' being used against pigeons on building ledges..those are metal strips with row of couple of inches of long needle like spikes pointing all different directions...I try to find for you the 'stuff'...
Here we are.. http://www.birdspikesonline.co.uk/Bird-Spikes/default.aspx
At least you can see what they are like and maybe make something similar yourself with batten of wood and some long nails?..don't need to be that many spikes as on those commercial ones.
I suppose you need them to be just long enough to reach under side of their body..longer than their legs and close enough to each other so they cannot squeeze/land in between.
Those bird/pigeon strips cover 1/3 of meter each at £1.40 each + delivery...don't sounds too bad price unless you need to cover 'miles' of fencing.
Hi Goodlife,
Thanks for the link....they look like just the thing I am after.

Hey Duke - a pet hawk may help..
Do you use the manure.. It's really good..
Anyone ever tried taut fisshing line
A piece chicken wire folded in half so it's abit spikey did the job in my garden.
If they're only sitting there pooing, that's not so bad. If pigeons sit anywhere on my plot, they're usually loitering with intent to devour my veg!
