Title: Rhubarb
Post by: NattyEm on March 02, 2005, 12:17:22
I've found some rhubarb in our plot just poking its leaves up through ground where we've cleared.  Is it OK to move it?  (once we have a cleared bed to move it too) its right in the middle of one of our rotation beds!  Otherwise we'll plan round it.

If you can leave it until the leaves have all died down (Novemberish) you will get a crop this year.

But if you are going to move it do it asap, with plenty of FYM and a bit of BF&B

I tried moving the rhubarb that I inherited with my plot.  It was about this time of year.  Maybe I replanted it too deep, but for whatever reason it turned it's toes up and died.  Then again, I've planted rhubarb on 3 different occasions and have never been successful.  Hope you have more luck !

Rhubarb, which is supposed to be fool-proof, has eluded me so far...   ::)
