it was called Giant Winter. Saw it earlier on iplayer (don't have a TV) and Monty said this one you can crop once (I think?) before the frosts and then you'll get new crops early in the year.

surprisingly, my normal baby spinach from last year overwintered and i had 3 cuttings off it in the early spring.

Thanks. Given that anything planted over winter is likely to get eaten by rabbits, I decided to sow some old seed I already had. Nothing ventured... :D

I've bought some perpetual spinach seeds but presume it's too late to sow them now.

I've planted some Viroflex variety normal winter spinach at the beginning of Sep and it's coming up nicely.  Apparently can be sown until the end of the month.

The only other time I've ever grown normal spinach was in the spring and it just bolted straight away so I think it's best kept as a winter crop.

Cheers
