Title: Feeding citrus plants
Post by: Mimi on August 17, 2012, 21:15:55
I have both a lemon and a mandarin bush that are in largish pots.  To be honest all that I have done with them over the summer is water them and they have grown at a fair rate.  I bought them as tiny plants from Lidl in June, potted them up with some John Innes No 3 and some moisture retaining crystals and left them to it.  I realise its late in the season to start feeding them but I think that there should have been at least 6 weeks worth of nutrients in the fresh compost. Both are now about 2 1/2 ft high.  So do I need to start feeding them, if so what do I feed them with?

I have a small lemon tree - and use VITAX Summer feed from April to September and their Winter feed from October to March. My local garden centre stocks them both.
