All the signs are there, wilting leaves and grubs on the damaged roots. My old gardening book says that usually occur when newly dug grassland, the most likely the cause' is used.
However, occurred in raised beds that were built on grass about 15 years ago. Never had it before.
My book also tells me that the treatment is chlorophos which I read on the net has been withdrawn.
All available products to deal with the problem seem to be for lawns. Would the same treatment sort out my raised vegetable bed?
Has anyone had any experience with these and successfully managed to treat them.
Many thanks in advance.
Alan
I have a problem in the garden with Chafer grubs. In the winter I dig it through and as soon as I see a grub I whistle, and the robin pops down and eats it.
Interestingly not seen any May Bugs this year.
LOL Mine are obviously netted so no bird activity. We have a couple of tame Robins visit the garden, once the nets come off, probably when all my brassica die off I'll dig over and let them loose. Will save me money on my special Robin bird food. :)
