Title: Help needed Apple Tree
Post by: luckycharlie on August 09, 2012, 13:28:10

I have 4 apple trees on my allotment lots of fruit on all of them, but on one of them the fruit is rotting all the other trees are fine. Should I remove all the rotting fruit? Any ideas why just  this tree is affected. The leaves are fine and the tree looks healthy.

Any help would be appreciated Thank You

Only harm will come if rotting fruit is left on the branch.  I should get them off as quick as you can because any spores will be left on the ground to re-infect the tree if the affected fruit are allowed to lie on the ground beneath the tree.

and don't chuck 'em onto the compost heap. :'(

Cheers,      Tony.

Thank you but no it's more like they are dying and all the fruit are the same . The other trees are fine    As if you had left them in the fruit bowl  they have gone brown with dark spots on them.
