Please, has anyone done this? Dimensions/depths of the tubs?
Thanks, Lishka
The bigger the better.. try to find some large pots at least 18" square or round and plant them about 6" apart so about 6 in a pot and feed them every few weeks with general fert.
Hallo GJC.
Would you feed them during the Winter or from Spring onwards?

I grow all overwintering onions and garlic in tubs of spent compost due to white rot.
Tend to forget to feed though- must try this year.

Not in winter - just spring onwards..
If you mix some bone meal into compost when planting..that will keep garlic going on over winter months and when the new growth really gets going in spring..then apply more general feed to 'fuel' the plants up...something like sprinkling of chicken manure pellets or BFB meal is ideal.
Thank Goodlife - I forgot to add that bit of info!!
Thanks for that information.
