Title: Damping down in the greenhouse
Post by: cestrian on August 04, 2012, 15:23:12
It's very hot in the greenhouse today. Should I be pouring water on the path to make the atmosphere humid?

Do tomato plants like it humid or dry?

I don't do this as i find the mildew and blight just love a damp atmosphere.
The best years for me have been when the gh is dry.Just make sure that the plants have enough water in the soil and they will be fine

I also make the toms deep root by not watering them for the first month. This means that i dont water in there either unless its been super dry and then they get a real soak I don't seem to have the problems of wilting or fruit splitting i used to when i watered and coddled them.
Good luck
