Title: My onion crop
Post by: RenishawPhil on July 18, 2012, 09:06:31
We have decided to harvest our onions.  Some are a decent size, a bit earlier then normal(yes i know we are due a bit of sunny weather but for how long!)

So have taken 95% of them up and put them under the car port for a week so they can cure until ready for hanging.

Didnt want to risk them rotting , 2 years ago all was looking great then in august we had a wet week and we lost loads!

Wonderful!
Finally a dry spell here, noticed last week that mine are all flopped over and a good percentage are drying out so they will come out this weekend I think. I will use the space for other crops !

Its really cheered up cropping the onions! , as its not going well with squash, keep having aborted ones even when hand pollinating!, so am feeling much happier now the onions are safely in the dry and they can get nicely cured over the next week and its going to be hot next week (27 degrees!!) so they will be out on the patio!
