Freezing peas? Has anyone frozen peas without blanching and was it a success? I have read my way through pros and cons - would like a personal view!
Right or wrong ? we never blanch peas and 'still eating last years and they're fine.
Welanch every other veetable.
Yep, I've frozen them without blanching and kept them for up to 3 months no problem. I wouldn't know if they last longer than that as I've always eaten them by then.
Yes me too No problems!!

I just shell and put into plastic bag and into the freezer. I do drop them into fast boiling water when cooking them.
I never get enough of them to freeze, but did look at the mange touts today and wehey I have one pod
we are still eating last years peas and they taste just as good, don't think we will get anywhere near as many this year though :-\
Is it too late to sow some peas?
Debs
It's not too late Debs but with later crops you run a much higher risk of them being affected by pea moth (little maggots in your peas)
Thanks for your comments. I have now frozen peas without blanching and am confident that they will be fine.
