These poppies have seeded themselves on the plot next to mine which has just been given up by the previous tenant.

There are hundreds of them and they do look beautiful but I think the new tenant will pull them up.
If poss may I have some seeds of the red one?
they are gorgeous
You will only need one seed, and in a year or so you'll be over-run! We have these in our flower border, self-seeded, and they're just about the only thing in flower. Almost everything else I sowed was either washed away or overwhelmed. I'll need to pull each one one out as they finish flowering or the whole plot will be one big poppy field!

Could make quite a bit out of that ;) :o
Mine are pink and also seed everywhere. They now compete with the borage, nasturiuns and weeds to smother any crops i plant ::) :'( this is mostly my fault because they are all so pretty :-[

Certainly, I'll save some for you. PM me your address.
so I know that the poppy seeds we normally eat are Papaver somniferum but does anyone know why we don't eat seeds from P. orientale?
I have opium poppies on my plot. I just pull them out if they're in the way, and cull the more insipid-looking ones. The colours get better and better.

So pretty and seems brave too, battling on through the rain :)
On a dry, sunny day, wednesday , bees ging mad :o
i love poppies. this year i've sown the seed of the lilac ones (same as above) that i became enamoured with from last year and now I've seen some frilly ones in public somewhere where I'll get some head from for next year. also a pink one with lilac and black blotches on. so sublime.. i'd really love Patty's Plum, but I've had to make a few compromises when it comes to seed if I could get it for free rather than buy that especially.
Few of mine that are popping up on the plots..

[attachment=2]..these were last year on my plot..those are still to flower this year.
