Title: White egg id
Post by: Jayb on June 23, 2012, 20:05:37
I'm hoping someone can help me id an empty egg shell I came across today, it caught my eye as it is larger than those I've seen, eg blackbird. I don't know much about wild birds eggs and looking through a bird book didn't help.
It is pure white, rounded at one end and more pointy at the other, same type shape as a hens egg. Diameter 2.5cm and length about 4cm. It was lying in some grass by the side of an overgrown bramblely (sp?) spot. It looks like a chick has hatched from it and it's been left away from the nest?

Hoping someone can help  :)
