Title: You have to get a bit concerned when....
Post by: Jeannine on June 22, 2012, 04:19:37
the authorites start sandbagging the small building in the middle of our lottie car park.

Across the road from the lottie carpark is a forensic hospital and they have sandbagged all round it to.

The river peaks tomorrow so wish us good luck especially as Joihn finished the hoophouse today!!

Hope that the floods are just a damp squib and you bake in warm early summer sunshine instead.

Good luck, Jeannine! Sounds as if your weather is much the same as ours at the moment!

Be thinking of you, hope the water subsides before it does any damage. x

So far we are still Ok but the river is almost at it's peak. There has been some flooding further down the river but as far as I know we are still on flood watch.

I keep thinking about the awful flooding we had in Hull which wrecked our lotties.

Our home will be OK as we are not close to the river. It peaks very year at about this time but is very high right now.

I shoudn't be thinking of me thiugh, there is an Indian Reservation at the edge of our lotties and they are closer to the river than my garden. It would get their houses.

I will keep you posted.

Thank you

Was it ok Jeannine?  Half the time preparing with sandbags is like taking an umbrella with you - and it turns out fine!  When nobody expects it and nobody is prepared, then floods seem to strike badly.

Hope all is well?

They have extended the worry time as the river has not gone down, some floodinbg higher up but we are OK so far. It might be two weeks before we can be sure.
