Title: slug traps
Post by: aquilegia on June 19, 2012, 14:24:55
I've had some wonderful success with my version of "beer" traps (made with water, yeast and sugar).

How often is it best to empty them? Will the birds eat the slugs if I leave the dead creatures in a dry pot (or similar!)? I hate the thought of good protein going to waste, but definitely won't be adding them to family meals!

(sorry for not being around for ages - been too busy with another sort of growing my own - son #2!)

Nice to know alcoholic water works. I've never tried beer traps on the proviso that if I have to drink cider instead of beer to cut costs then the slugs are sure as hell not getting it.

Might give it a go.

Cider traps didn't work though.
