A friend of mine is studing floristry & needs to know if these can still be bought &/or are they called something different now.
Melathion
Dimethoate
Pyrethuim
Resenethrin
Permethrin.
Thanks for your help. :)
Sincerely hope the first two - organophosphates - are not!
Pyrethrum, Resmethrin & Permethrin probably are. Don't quote me!!
Pretty sure Melathion is a banned chemical, not sure about the rest ???
Pyrethrum is available (from the Organic Catalogue among others!)
http://www.pesticides.gov.uk/approvals.asp?id=627 and http://www.rhs.org.uk/thegarden/pubs/garden0503/pesticides2.asp - info on recently banned chemicals.
Malathion (organophosphate or not) is still available and used to treat head-lice (the cure worse than the condition? Banned in the garden but put it on your hair? Scary!).
All best - Gavin
Thanks. :)
Gavin, really?? Wow ??? :-\
Gavin - it was always paraffin with us!!
And do you think that your 2 links would be useful in the Links section?? Quite important info.??
