I have ti do a re think about my garden plan and I have quite alot of assorted brassicas that I anm hoping I can hold off planting out. They are almost ready to go out now but I need to wait and put them in where my garlic is coming out.
I have transpalted them individually in 4 inch tall plantpots about 7 inched high and have them in plenty of light etc.
Can I hold them back for about another month or even 6 weeks..
They are in excellent conditions and growing well with no stress etc.

4-6 weeks delay... :-\..well..it is possible but I suspect 4" pots won't be big enough for that..perharps adding another couple of inches to the pot size would keep them going for that bit longer...and if you do keep them planted, use quite rich compost mix when potting on.
Up a size every couple of weeks I'd ahve thought...
The pots are much taller than regular pots I just measured one and they are actualy almost 9 inches so lots of room for roots. There are too many to pot into bigger pots , what do you think if I leave them in these.

They will be fine, I often make brassicas wait. For example I have some starbor kale ready to go out but they are happily sitting in trays, the 6 to a tray size. I just keep them fed from time to time and I am waiting for my early peas, which won`t be ready for 4 weeks. That wasn`t the intention but the peas are being slow and I am not worried about the kale. They are in a semi shaded place and open to the elements
Doing the same thing with some PSB until I can get my early potatoes out. Fingers crossed!
Ok, I will try... a lot of it is varieties of PSB they are pretty big now though.. :-\
