If that's a google earth picture it's probably out of date!
As far as I know the allotments there are out of use. There is a site on the opposite side of the road going strong, though it does have under cultivated plots.
SALGA the swindon allotment assoc is mounting a vigourous defense. Taurus knows much more about it. I get regular updates on public meetings.
I get the feeling there has been some manipulation of the waiting lists. Swindon has closed some of the waiting lists for allotments so it is difficult to know how many people want one.
THey have previous for this, shutting a site adn getting rid of current tenants then caliming it's disused.... they did it to Crowdies Field but the covenant on that means titlereverts to the estate of the person who bequeathed it to them if it stops being allotments....
Kevin Mclouds company have now pulled out. But it still might go to another developer.
