When will Garlic be ready that was planted in December?. I normally plant in Feb , so not sure about this lot. Thanks. ;D

i usually plant end of oct pull in july.
this year i didnt plant any but some came up in last years space. i pulled them a week ago as i needed their space. got some normal big bulbs and some small ones that have not split. not bad as i didnt expect anything x
Hubby's planted "vampire ring" around the edges of the plot last year, is still undug, but with all this rain I'm in two minds as to pull it before it a) it rots or b) developes white rot. I might take a chance and pull some now, leave the rest in the hope that we get some hot weather to bulk the rest up. If I do find the dreaded b) later on then, at least, it's contained to the edges.

My plants are large and now covered in rust. I have already disposed of half my plantings, another variety, as I am hedging my bets and have planted different crops on that ground. I will stick with these until middle of july at least but I am not holding my breath
mine are all rusted over too from Nov and Feb. planted ones. I've not had rust on them before but as it's their first season at the lotti, maybe it was inevitable with the freakish weather we've had. i'm holding out til july before i lift mine, but it does dampen my spirits somewhat whenever i go down, my heart sinks. :'(
I am intrigued by your rust worries! Mine are always rusted but I find that it does little harm. I just pull them, dry them for a couple of days, then I just brush off the outer leaves that are rusted. Mine store fine ???
My garlic is ready! It is now all yellow and a quick look last week showed a formed bulb. I will be pulling mine this weekend i think (good, then I can get some cabbages in that patch!). I usually dry them off for a few days in the shed then tidy them a bit and string 'em up in the pantry. easiest crop. Mine were planted in November this year.
despite all the leaves on mine are rusty, i think the obvious sign for lifting is when their growth finishes, and the leaves start keeling over a bit (and dying off). with all the rain we've had here (nott'm), it wouldn't be wise to lift mine just yet..
They should be pulled befrore they are all yellow..read the link I put on it talks aboutb that XX Jeannine
Pulled the october planted ones today - 31 healthy medium sized bulbs with well formed tunics (wrappers). Although rusted they had obviously come to the end of their growing cycle and the bulbs are fine.
They are now under cover drying off.
The february planted ones are still growing so probably late july/august before those are ready.
