I don't have an allotment but this question has come up before.  I believe all allotments differ and you will have to look at the rules relating to your own site.

Under the Allotments Act, yes you can, but there may be bye-laws or other rules that modify that.  But if it's a council allotment, you shouldn't have any trouble/

We only allow a maximum of 20% of plots to have livestock.

I have to admit to being a scan reader....so when I spotted this, for a moment I thought it said 'Chicken hotpot'.  :o
