I hope you all have a good time whether it be pottering on your allotment, flag waving at the side of the Thames (or at the tv as I shall be!) enjoying a good street party with your neighbours or sitting in the dark under the stairs wearing your anti-royalist sex pistols t-shirt.
I don't care what the boo-yahs say, I'm going to enjoy it. She's our Queen and this is not something we'll see again in our lifetime and I love how it brings such a huge percentage of the country together with a big smile on their face.
Afternoon cream tea at my sisters on Tuesday whilst we watch the carriage procession, balcony apperance the wonderful flypast and Feu de Joie :D
I shall also be enjoying Euro12 and the Olympics! ;D ;D
My sister is off to a street party having decided she won't be arriving to see our parents this Sunday so my day is mapped out along with the rest of the week.
I guess I'll be catching snippets of the celebrations on my parents tv inbetween the washing, cooking and cleaning.
Maybe there'll be time for a quick escape to the plot if I'm lucky. ;)
It was my Mum's 50th birthday on Coronation day so I will be a wee bit wistful tomorrow.
Dad bought us a TV, the first in our street and all the neighbours packed into the house and some looked through the windows.
mm memories
XX Jeannine
PS I have a Union Jack flying off the balcony
My Dad has come up so we can ignore it together, as a family.
^^ bah humbug !!
Got some flag stuff from Poundland and will be putting it up on the plot as bird scarers.
No street party on my street, we are a miserable bunch too.
I'll be sitting on the plot, contemplating my own 60 year reign, I was born in 1952 ;D
Get together on our street on Monday billed as "a chance to meet everyone again as we've got an extra day' no mention of the queen! We used to have regular get togethers every summer but the main organiser moved and lots of new people have arrived since. We're in a cul-Dr-sac with 45 houses an
d a nice green area at the bottom end so no need to close roads.

LOL!!
Whoop! We are having a Jubilee party on Mon with about 30 guests. Started doing some baking last night (the things that will last) and am going to spend the whole weekend making yummy things. Have bought lots of cheesy decorations! ;D
We will just be doing what we always do and enjoying it.Counting our blessings for the good things that have happened and trying to forget the rest.
Nice one Sammy
My flags and bunting are waving in the wind
The OH, kids, their friends and the outlaws have gone into London today
I shall be enjoying drinks with friends and neighbours in the club at the end of my road over the weekend
Congratulations to Mal on her 60 year old reign :-*
Bring on the Euros and the Olympics
Good luck England tonight
Epsom Derby today as well
Have a great weekend everyone
God Save The Queen

Glad I'm not the only one.
hope you all have a lovely weekend . I shall miss it all being here in SORRENTO :'( :'( :'(.
God Save the QUEEN. ;D
I had no intention of doing anything jubilee- related this weekend, but I went to my plot and was assailed by church bells ringing constantly for 2 hours, amplified music from the Social Club a few streets away, and a fly-past by (I think) the Red Arrows! I could barely hear Dermot O'Leary on my radio!
Looking forward to our street party tomorrow.
Hope you all wave our flag and take a moment to be proud of our Queen and country. ;D

Taken today in the garden before the thunder and rain arrived!

This Jubilee weekend (as with every weekend and weekday through the year) I'll be looking after my parents for much of the day and every evening.
My sister continues to have "other commitments". Having been at church and (as local commissionaire for the Guides) with the Brownies this afternoon doing her bit for society, will be at a party this evening and a BBQ tomorrow before enjoying her week long holiday.
(What are "holidays"? ??? )
Forgot...... I took early retirement so life is one long holiday for me.... I'm informed. ::)
Wishing all who have time to notice it a Happy Jubilee Week-end.
(Lovely photos Ninnyscrops)
That cake looks fun and delicious and the pics are lovely :D
I spent such a long time trapsing around town today trying to find some Jubilee bunting (I know, I left it ridiculously late, it's my own fault) and my husband was looking whilst shopping out of town - both had no luck. I think I'm an inch shorter from all the walking but ... my husband did buy me these lovely little light up union jack lanterns, now shining proudly from one of my front windows :D (I know my curtains are the wrong size but we've had new windows fitted and I'm waiting for the blinds to be delivered! :-[)
THEN ... I was telling my son about the bunting saga and he said, 'Oh my girlfriend has a whole bag of it at home, she brought it home from work' WHAT???!!!! :o He's going to bring me some back tomorrow, LOL.
Jubilee or no Jubilee, I think that the sight of 1,000 ships sailing along the Thames tomorrow is going to look spectacular and I'm really looking forward to seeing it :)
I am so envious of you all, there is zilch here..lovely photos and super little lanterns and a cake to be proud of.
You know I could do with a good street party too.
and yes, may the good Lord continue to Bless the Queen
XX Jeannine
Happy jubilee weekend to all.
Fabulous cake and bunting!
I love anything that brings the community together. My street is a horrible place and no bunting but mine is up, but ill be spending tommorow at my parents and neighbours house having a big do. Ive made 2 quiches and 6 jubilee hats this is mine celebrating 60 years of coronation chicken my favorite sandwich filling!
we are also celebrating 60 years since the structure of DNA was deciphered and all sorts.
hope the rain drys up for a fab day. x sunloving

My familt went to Hyde park yesterday and really enjoyed thereselves, they're off to see the ships today. :)
Pouring of rain here but we will all be going into the cathedral...........right on our street LOL ;D
Pouring down here as well, I'm off to where the prayer books have handles on.. ;)
Will be on my own today but I am enjoying the TV coverage. The Nursing Home in Kent where my sister is are organising a sort of 'street party' on Tuesday with food, entertainment and they hope to get the entire home's residents, staff and visitors joining in a good old sing song of the old songs. Some of the folk are very ill including my sister but lets hope it brightens their day.
Saw the strangest thing.......nearly every inch of the cathedral floor was covered by people sitting having picnics.
Live music and stalls ,including alcohol LOL.
Back now watching the TV and it is still raining :)
Raining here and watching it on the tele with daughter No1
OH got there OK and are right near the screen so they shouldn't miss too much. :)
Watched the boat jobbies for a while with the sound off.
Biggest giggle was the dew drop on the end of Phil the Greek's conk. He didn't wipe it away but Chas did when he got one. Looked cold out on that river. Then it p*ssed down.
Well it's been worth it to see what Jeanine looks like!
It's as good an excuse as any to have a bit of a party, with all the ambient doom and gloom. My husband as a French republican type laughs at me as I support the Queen but I feel that, even if some say she's a scrounger, they wouldn't take her place for anything, as her life's not her own. She is to me the symbol of history and tradition and of a certain neutrality, a sort of guarantee of a dignified head of state. She works bl**dy hard, I think, people think she sits on her bum all day, but I think she has incredible knowledge of world affairs, and I am sure that each of her days is full of engagements of one sort or another.
She has served her country with a lot of devotion for a long time and I think we should be very proud of her. She also looks marvellous for her age!
Happy Jubilee your majesty!
(Also I remember her silver jubilee!!! which now makes me feel quite old!!!)

Well said......... without a monarch we could have had
one lots of those president characters and just look at the bother they've caused across the globe!!
We aren't celebrating here........too much work to do.
Over this weekend we have had to empty the lounge of everything and hubbie is now busy removing our large Bradstone fire place, surround and hearth. It's a very messy job. He has also had to lay cables over the roof to the satellite so we can receive TV reception in another room as a temporary measure.
We are having a wood burner installed on Wednesday and will probably take the opportunity of decorating the lounge now that the furniture is out. ;D ;D
Our village is having a street party today but we won't be going. I don't get that excited about royalty anyway.
Think they should have given the Queen a coat as I was cold watching it on TV with the heating on, and she looked very smart, perhaps she was wearing long johns underneath. She is wonderful for her age to stand all that time, I would have sat down with my woolly hat, gloves and walking coat on, and I am a lot younger than her. Hope she didn't catch a cold. No street parties round here, but I did do a nice roast dinner.
Tomorrow I am having a Jubilee tea with my daughter's all things red. white. and blue. and after the week end I have just had, I can't wait for a drop of the old Champage. here's to The Queen.
June.
Yippee we got the TV coverage. She deserves a medal and so does Phillip for standing all that time.
She certainly has devoted her life to her country, and is still doing so. I wonder how many folk could or indeed would do that, whatever the perks mey be she is a very special woman.
It was good to see our Dragon Boat there with the ladies paddling, all cancer survivors.Well done ladies
XX Jeannine
It certainly was a brilliant show for the public / nation and a well deserved tribute to our Queen & Prince Phillip.
I caught the tail end of the tv broadcast as my 92 year old mum stayed up to watch it passed her normal bedtime. My father, on the other hand, wandered off to bed but he is 5 years older than my mother so we'll forgive him for turning in early. ;)
Mrs Roller and I had our own "beacon" burning at the far end of the garden saying goodbye to 6 large fir trees that the neighbour said we could cut down to give more light to our developing veg patch.... maybe we'll call it the Jubilee Garden in HM's honour. :)
Went to the village stalls at the field behind the copse, so many crafts, plants and charities to support plus the school children putting on events and local bands playing from 1pm until 5pm.
The sports club on the hill was the next venue, childrens' races, welly wanging, tombola and they put the concert live on loudspeakers across the field.
The last port of call was our Glebe field for the lighting of the beacon and fireworks.
You know when you have a community when you see all those people coming together.
Our Queen brings us together and for that we thank you.
