Hi all
Last autumn we planted 4 summer fruiting raspberries, 4 autumn fruiting and a thornless blackberry.
The plot's been manured, but not since they were planted.
Only one raspberry has shown any sign of life with a few leaves at ground level.
Please settle a dispute indoors - I say give them time to grow, the OH says they're dead and wants to get new ones.
Hi
Ive got a few sulkers who havent put any leaves out yet after transplanting them. First thing to do is scrape away a bit of the bark to see if theres green alive or brown deadunderneath and then if they are green then just give them more time.

I agree, check the woody bits for signe of life.
If nothing green is seen, then they def are dead as the proverbial dodo.
I used Parkers for rhubarb and gooseberries this last autumn. Only one gooseberry made it and not one of the 9 rhubarb plants did. On complaining I was treated to a lecture from the man at the end of the phone about whether I had handled them properly. Hmmm.
If they are dead, put it down to experience - but keep a smile going!
Well, dug up some of the ones which havent shown any signs of life
Looking pretty dead, so taken a few suckers from other plants and replaced, also getting some suckers from someone on here Down the road so will get them in the fruit cage and make it look less bare. The suckers look healthy and the soil is nice and damp so shouldnt dry out
Good luck with the new transplants.
re parkers they seem very poor at plants i bought 6 mecanopsis and 6 pulsatillas about three years ago from them which were an expensive treat, when they arrived there was one poppy alive and 2 pulsatillas, i asked them to replace them and got similar trays with one or two plants alive so i phoned them again and they refused to refund the money for the remaining 3 plants missing from both orders. Ever since ive avoided them except for bulbs which they do fine with.
I would write to them about the rhubabrb and about the rudeness of the person you spoke to. See what happens.
good luck

Thanks for your advice. Looks like most are dead and only 2 or 3 showing any green.
I would give them longer. I gave up on one raspberry and dug it up to find there were small white shoots on the roots.
I thought I only had three from a batch of five that I planted last year, but actually the other two have sprouted this year from the base but had nothing last year at all.
Not a fan of parkers myself. Bought a bamboo some years ago was not pleased with it - it was tiny. It was in a 2 litre pot but actually would have fitted in a 1.2 litre one easily. To start with they said I complained too soon and then it was too late. Several years later it is still small. I was hoping to grow my own beans sticks and so far not even one big enough for dwarf peas. Though actually their raspberries did ok.
