Title: Lawn Help Needed
Post by: Uncle Joshua on May 27, 2012, 15:20:37
My kids have had the paddling pool out over the last few days, now the lawn stinks and is covered in flies and the grass is brown. they may well have used a bottle full of washing up liquid in there. what can I do, first to get shut of the smell but also to bring the grass back?

Give a gentle rake to remove some of the dead stuff and then hose it down to flush some of the washing up liquid down. After that it is just waiting game and see what happens. Grass is quite tough 'stuff' so it is quite likely it will recover... ;)

Can't you also get wasing liquid that is relatively healthy for grass? Might help for the next warm days

Is the ground still wet is it worth going over it with a garden fork and help to get some air in and the the excess water dry out?

The smell has gone now. I was hoping the rain we just had would help it go green, sadly I just looked out and noticed that the kids have placed the blumming trampoline right over the spot.  :(
