Title: Petunias
Post by: Paulines7 on May 21, 2012, 13:40:41
I have never really been successful with growing petunias or other bedding plants from seed, usually because I leave it too late as I don't heat my greenhouse.

This year though, I decided for the first time, to buy some mini plug plants that were very cheap from T & M.  They were a special offer of red, white and blue petunias.  When they arrived they really were tiny, though they did have really good roots.  I potted them up and now have many trays full of big petunia plants.  I didn't lose any of them..

Petunia seeds are quite expensive to buy and it also costs quite a bit to buy plants fully grown from garden centres.  For those of you who haven't tried the mini plugs, I really recommend them.  My only question now is where to plant them all.   :-\   ;D ;D

Quite agree with all you have said Pauline. This is the only year I haven't bought any although I have mainly bought busy lizzies to fill the 110 holes Charlie made in the water butt. I had gift voucher Mother's Day for Delfland Nurseries so this year I will use those.
