I have a BT Hub (spit) which has performed perfectly for ages. We run a PC and a laptop with XP wirelessly. All of a sudden the wireless has disappeared on the laptop, it went from the ipad and iphone for a while, but both of them are fine now. Have pressed the reset button on the hub, but laptop still says no connection. Help?!
Check that you have not pushed F 10 by mistake. There should be an indication light that says the laptop is connected to the hub.
It is more than likely that you have somehow switched wireless off - sometimes F10, sometimes there is a switch on the side, sometimes you have to press function and an F key.
What is the make/model.
....and sometimes there is a light that tells to the wireless is enabled and sometimes there is a light that tells you the wireless is disabled.
Aha! New cat walked across the laptop whilst it was on, will check later, he may have inadvertently hit F10...
Its a Samsung NC10 netbook. Have pressed the function button and F9, it says LAN wireless is on. Still cannot get on. The windows repair thing says it is renewing my IP address (?) then says it could not complete the repair because it cannot renew IP address!
Katy i am not bright enough now if it was an abbicus i may of been able to help..

Thanks Davy, the blurb at the end of that article says it will only work if you have changed locations, and I haven't. I have looked at loads of pages from people who have no connection on this netbook, I have done several of the things suggested, but still no luck :'(
Hi,
Did you fix this? I'm a repair person and should be able to help with this!
Firstly, is your wireless light on? That's the one on the front at the left with the antenna symbol (looks a bit like a rotary clothes line). If not, hold down the Fn key (bottom left) and press F9 (the one with the antenna symbol). This will activate your wireless!
Once that is on, check that you're connected. There should be a network symbol down in the notification area (bottom right of the screen near the clock) - this one should look like vertical bars increasing in size rightwards. If you click on that, you should see a list of networks.
Let me know if the problem still persists.
Hi retro, I did a check of the Fn and F9 buttons, all ok. I ran out of patience and took it to my local repair shop, it's still in their hands naw!

From your PM, it sounds like an issue communicating with the router - possibly solved by deleting the connection and reconnecting and entering the password again, but it could be a more serious router fault.
I replied via PM - see if any of that helps.
