Savoury roll
Very good for filling dish and ideal for using up leftovers
8oz self raising flour
4oz suet
pinch of salt
filling of choice.
Mix flour suet and salt together. add some water to make a dough. Roll out into a rectangle. spread filling over leaving a 1 inch border. brush border with water. fold over edges and roll up like a swiss roll. bake at 180C/ Gas 4 for 20-30 mins until golden brown and risen.

Chopped bacon & onion, lightly fried
Mince and onion, brown before adding to dish
sausage meat, spread out in a rectangle, sprinke with chopped apple and sage
left over cooked veg spinkled with cheese
left over stir fried veg
Since it was so chilly yesterday, we made this with minced beef and onion, nicely peppered, with lashings of onion gravy to pour over it.
