Title: Leggy lettuce
Post by: mpdjulie on May 12, 2012, 20:51:37
I have grown these salad bowl lettuce seedlings in my shed in a propergator.  The shed has windows to two sides so light isn't a problem but the seedlings do appear to be leaning to the light though.  I will be planting these out at my lottie tomorrow.  I would like to know whether I can plant these a little deeper, like you do tomatoes?
Here is a pic of them.

Those are really leggy! But what do have to lose? I always plant mine a little deeper when potting on? Goodlife Posted some information on here a while back on how to make a light box. From her info I made my own and was really pleased with the results. Here is picture of mine. Goodlifes picture were much better. Basically it's a plastic storage box lined with foil, with a clip on blue daylight bulb suspended above the box. It worked really well for me
