I've just put the last potato from last years crop into the oven, Sarpo Mira, maybe not everyone's favourite but it bakes pretty well and stores like a stone.... and earlier today noticed the flower heads on the ROckets in pots in the greenhouse :-)
We finished our desiree yesterday, bit soft but made great mash. Plus we have small, new ones on the vanessa in the poly (had a firkle yesterday ) ;D
I've still got just a handful of fairly big Desiree left.
Still got loads of Desiree and Cara left but very, very wrinkly and have had to deshoot a few times - good for mash though and determined not to buy any.
Used some Picasso today as wedges... been de-sprouted a couple of times but still worth eating.. :)
Oh it would be so nice to have so many spuds to be able to still have some in May! Mine are eaten by November (oh well, better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!!). The first belle de Fontenay should be ready soon though...
It's unusual to still have some now... but we had no blight last year... so lost virtually non in store... and one lad living abroad... :)

I don't think I could do mine without the rotavator though... I've got three rods of potatoes (slightly more than half of a half-sized allotment) plus a few earlies in pots in GH.... I'm not that physically robust anymore, earthing that lot up by hand would kill me....
I dug some potatoes up which got left from last year yesterday in good condition, do you think they will still be edible.????
