Title: beet root ?

this is a silly  Q
can i cook beetroot in the micro wave
if so....for how long

I would have thought it would go all pulpy like spuds do in the microwave. Give it a try but make sure you have some mr. muscle to clean up with ;D

Twenty minutes to half an hour at full whack (immersed in water).   Works a treat.    Cheers,    Tony.

Put them in a bowl, just a small drop of water and a lose fitting lid then full power.
How long depends on how many, I would see how they are doing after 5 minutes to start with.
I don't remember if you have to stab them first so you better do that just in case.

One important point, they get f****** hot, so ovengloves needed all the time, and once they are cooked tip them into a bowl of cold water to cool them down.
I always do them in the microwave unless I am doing a load, then they go in the oven.
They taste a lot better in the microwave than they do boiled.

Thankyou for that Chrispy I always wondered. Mind you I've yet to sow this years crop so I shall have to remember that or write it down ;)
