Title: cauliflowers in p/tunnel
Post by: Good Gourd 2 on May 05, 2012, 07:52:20
I planted some cauliflower plants in my polytunnel in Oct/ Nov. They have been growing away and look good strong  plants but they don`t seem to be forming curds, only one and it went all leggy not compact. Any suggestions before I pull em out. ::)

It's too hot in our polytunnel for cauliflowers, don't know if that makes them leggy, though

I've had good results with both cauliflowers and calabresse grown in a polytunnel. I've either overwintered or started in January, but manics is right it does get a bit too warm for them. I wonder if it may suit some varieties more than others?

When were you expecting to harvest them?

Could do with harvesting them in about 3 weeks really need to get the giant beans etc in.  I will give em till then. It was only a trial as we have only put tunnel up in Oct. Thank you for your help. :)
