No probs in 2yrs
My father done this last year and his plants were a tiny bit leggy compaired to mine still very edible and no probs with butterfly's, I'm going to do it this year fed up with the caterpillar's eating my dinner ;)
We grow ours inside environmesh walls, with net topping. We get great, caterpillar-free cabbages. That said, I don't think it's good for brussels - big stalks, pathetic sprouts.
Just make sure the debris netting is taut, if it's saggy the light intake will be reduced and you may well get leggy plants. Also remember not to erect it behind taller plants as this will cause the same ;)
